Tonia Chrapko has always had an interest in the mind. Now she will put your mind to work in two upcoming sessions entitled, "BrainBOOSTER™ Workshop."
Learning centres in the United States and Europe have been using accelerated learning techniques since they were discovered in the 1950s. Brain research has shown that we only use 10 per cent of our minds, but now Chrapko is taking accelerated learning theories and is applying them in concrete strategies. There is a need for this type of learning," said Chrapko. "I want to work together with teachers, school systems, parents and kids."
Chrapko is originally from the Two Hills area, but has set up shop in Calgary under the business name, Toolbox Training. She is a former teacher with an Education degree, but found that the school curriculum did not teach students how to study and learn more efficiently.
She is now hitting the rural areas to assist students, parents and employees in their learning techniques.' I'm trying to get people to understand how the mind works so that they can learn more and learn easily."
The one-day workshop includes strategies for harnessing your memory, improving concentration, making notes not taking notes and seven ways to be an active learner.
Chrapko has been approaching local businesses to sponsor students for the workshop and hopes to get into the schools on a more regular basis.
The one-day workshop is open to the public and will take place on Nov. 20 in St. Paul and Nov. 21 in Two Hills.
Tonia Chrapko is Chief Energizing Officer (CEO) and owner of Toolbox Training. 454 -3361
